Alexander Subbasis Theorem

Definition

A Topological Space $(X,\mathcal{T})$ is Compact if and only if $X$ has a Subbasis $\mathcal{S}$ such that every open covering of $X$ by elements of $\mathcal{S}$ has a finite subcover.
